Coming to a Leicester street near you soon. A great way to get active with your friends and family and discover new places with the added bonus of prizes to be won!
It’s a busy time for us here at WWCE headquarters. We are working hard to finalise the events that will run alongside our crowd funding planned for the spring. At the same time we are starting to go out and meet with local groups and clubs to discuss ideas for the activities that could be available when the project is complete. There are quite often more things to do than people to do them!
With that in mind we are on the look out for some new blood to boost our numbers, bring in fresh ideas and maybe try something they’ve never done before.
Can you spare a little time on a regular or ad hoc basis? Would you like to make a positive and lasting difference to the community? Are you ready to get stuck in and help drive this project forward? No experience is necessary, just plenty of enthusiasm and a “can do” attitude.
If you would like to know more, please contact us here or send us a message on our Facebook page.
Over the last few weeks, you might have have seen us teasing something for Spring 2019. From today, we are pleased to be able to reveal what’s happening…
With events starting to gather momentum we thought it was about time we gave the project to bring the site of the former Eco House back into use a name of it’s own. Something that will make it identifiable and easier to talk about with your friends, neighbours and the wider community.
We would really appreciate your help spreading the word in a very simple way. We ask that you tell two people. Direct them here, or to our Facebook page. Keep an eye out for details of the launch of our crowdfunding and the community events that will surround it.
Forest Schools are a growing phenomenon in the UK, but what impact does getting children outside of the classroom have on their overall development? Researchers at Loughborough University hope to find out.
This is just one of the initiatives we have in mind for the community space at the former Eco House.
We are delighted to have had an article published in the latest issue of the Western Park Gazette. It serves as both an introduction for newcomers to WWCE and as a brief catch up as to where we are with the redevelopment of the former Eco House site.
You can download a copy of December’s issue here: http://www.westernparkgazette.co.uk/pdfs/Gazette-Dec-18.pdf
We plan to give you further updates in every issue going forward and more in depth coverage both here and via our social media channels.
